České Budějovice, September xx-xx 2008

České Budějovice is a mid-range city with ca. 100000 inhabitants and is the capital of the South Bohemian region. Despite being a modern city, the centre still keeps its medieval character (although not as well preserved as Český Krumlov).

The main square in České Budějovice named after Přemysl Otakar II, the Czech king who founded the city. The square covers the area of more than 1 hectar and is surrounded by houses mainly built in the renesance and baroque styles.
